Samira Iravani

is a New York native and graphic designer with a decade of experience in the publishing industry. She is currently an Associate Art Director with the Macmillan Children's Publishing Group. Prior to that she was an Associate Art Director at Clarion Books (an imprint of HarperCollins), and a member of the Penguin Young Readers design group.

She is also co-author of the picture book Mama Shamsi at the Bazaar (Dial), inspired by her mother’s childhood in Tehran, Iran.

Outside of design and writing, Samira’s passions lie in the esoteric arts. She is a student of astrology, tarot, herbalism, and folk magic. If you’re interested in an astrology or tarot reading from her you can learn more here.
